Daddy’s Parrot
(Hafit Irawan)
When I was in 6 grade elementary, I had a new pet. My family and I was so surprised when our father back home with a cage and a parrot inside. The parrot was white, its feather was so soft and shiny, and it had yellow crested.
My father and I fed it and train it everyday. We were very lucky to have it, because it was really good at learning. The parrot was smart, it could greet every guest coming. Our parrot was symbol of our house, because we decided to put it at the terrace. Everybody at home was happy because of the parrot, its way to greet people, its act, its typical sound, and everything it did were great!.
But that happiness was not last for long. One day, the parrot did’nt want to eat. The doctor said the the parrot was sick, and I forgot what the disease was. All of the family were sad, and after all the poor parrot can’t survive, and finally died peacefully. Our white parrot will always have a special place inside our heart.. Good bye our white parrot..
A few month later, my uncle called my father. The point was just to tell that he and his family decided to visit us next week. Otherwise, he asked my father about the parrot, and uncle said sorry about that.
After a week waiting for them, they finally arrived here safely. I miss them so much, especially all of my cousins. My family and I were so surprised and happy, because they brought us a new pet too!. Do you really want to knew what they brought us? They brought us a new parrot!!!. My family and I were really happy because of it. We put the new parrot inside our old parrot cage.
It was just really amazing!!! The parrot was red with yellow and blue at the end of its wing, its feather was better than our old white parrot, and it had no crested. After we put it inside the cage, we fed it, and I decided to start train it at the next day.
When the next day come, I started to train it, and without my father this time. What unbelieveable!!! The parrot was genius! It was really really smart! It could spell a word for the first day!, It said “Hello, hello!”. When the second day was came, I train it again. This time, I teach it to say “Good Morning!”, and it really work. I had a wonderful time after, and I felt happy, so did all of my family. Thank you uncle for bringing us a new parrot, and I wish this happiness was last forever... Amin...
